Happy Wednesday everyone! I wish all of us the very best luck when it comes to our tests.
This Wednesday we are focusing on the pumpkinseed sunfish!
The pumpkinseed sunfish is a freshwater fish residing mostly on the Eastern coast of North America, but have been introduced to habitats on the west as well. They’ve been found in Europe as an invasive species on occasion as well, outcompeting local fish. They have been declared an enemy of the European Union
They belong to the sunfish family Centrarchidae and belonging to the order Perciformes.
The pumpkinseed is a generally rather small fish only getting about 10 cm and often weighing less than 1 pound.
