Terrific Thursday everyone. Today's "fish" of the day is the sea angel, as recommended by Cadence!
The sea angel, a clade called Gymnosomata, are free swimming sea slug, found from arctic regions to tropic ones. Like most gastropods they have a singular foot of which they use to travel, but these animals have turned their foot into wing like appendages for further free swimming ability. Sea angels are small, reaching only 5 cm in size in the largest of species
Sea angels are carnivorous, eating pteropods and existing as ambush predators, although those in tropical habitats are more likely to pursue their prey.
